Curated Apps

Recommended and Tested

This is a list of tools and recommended apps for the Kubuntu Focus. Almost all of these are automatically updated during normal software updates. If you own a Focus, you can click an icon here or in any document to immediately install and launch an app without breaking your train of thought, as illustrated in the short video.

These icons will only launch apps on Kubuntu Focus systems. If you are using a Kubuntu Focus system and the icons still don't launch apps, please see the Troubleshooting section.

Please read the disclaimer before proceeding. We review and update guided solutions regularly. If you have suggestions or requests, please write support@kfocus.org.

How Curated Apps Work

Kubuntu Focus makes running Curated Apps as easy as a single click. In any guided solution where you see a curated app icon, you can click on it to launch the app. If the app needs to be installed, the Curated Apps system guides you through every step needed, including:

The Focus Team also actively works to ensure all Curated Apps work as they should. For example, certain video conferencing did not launch correctly from web links and subtly interfered with KDE keyboard input. A popular web messaging app also did not launch correctly from web links. Fixes for these issues and others were applied through regular software updates.
