The NX GEN 3 combines the best out-of-the-box validated Linux experience with high-performance hardware to provide desktop tower performance and reliability in a footprint smaller than a CD case.[01] Recommended for software development, local LLMs, DevOps, and general computing. Advanced CPU efficiency, along with Focus Power Tools and fan controls help it run cooler and quieter across all workloads.
Speed through demanding tasks with ease. The Intel Ultra 7 CPU has 16 cores, 16 threads, and boosts to 5.1 GHz. Run apps quicker and smoother than the prior-generation NX, with 22/50% faster single/multi-core performance. Suspend and resume executes quickly, often in less than one second.
Enjoy hushed, cool performance for almost all tasks. While the processor uses the highest-performance 40 W TDP, the TSMC N3B process helps ensure quiet operation. The cooling fan is often inaudible. Even for the most demanding tasks, it rarely exceeds 30 dB with the Standard fan profile. Whisper, Standard, and Performance are selectable.
With the Ultra 225H CPU option, you can save money and still get impressive performance. While this CPU has two fewer P-cores (4 vs. 6) and a slightly lower-spec iGPU (Arc 130T vs. Arc 140T), it still performs very well, as shown in the benchmarks section below.
Intel Arc 140T and 130T graphics run 2-3x faster than 12th-generation Iris Xe graphics, and work well for content creation and casual games like Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, or Minecraft at 1080p. We only ship dual-channel RAM to ensure maximum graphics performance.
If you need ultimate graphics capabilities for visualization, deep learning, or games, we recommend you plug in an eGPU or consider a system like the Focus M2. However, if your GPU needs are more modest, you should be very pleased with the performance.

The NX GEN 3 provides a compelling balance of performance, features, value, and reliability. The trim and quiet NUC chassis has a jewel-like quality and fits just about anywhere, yet it still has room for 6 TB of high-speed storage and provides many high-speed ports for maximum utility and flexibility.

Connect the way you want without expensive dongles or docks. Enjoy the speed and reliability of Wi-Fi 7, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth 5.4. Communicating has never been faster or easier.
Drive up to four 4K displays at once with two DisplayPort 2.1 outputs through USB-C, and two HDMI 2.1 ports.
Run high-speed peripherals with two Thunderbolt 4 ports with bandwidth up to 40 Gb/s. With so many ports, you can run an ML pipeline on an eGPU and still drive three 4K displays with plenty of ports left over.

We benchmark Focus systems extensively to optimize for compatibility and performance. We hope you find the results below helpful when assessing the capabilities of the NX GEN 3 and encourage you to compare the results with your device or others.

The Arrow Lake Ultra 7 and Ultra 5 CPUs outperform high-end desktop CPUs from just a few years ago. The Ultra 7 255H features 6 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and 2-LPE cores, while the Ultra 5 225H has 4 P-cores instead of 6. Both are well-suited for handling demanding and concurrent tasks like Kubernetes clusters or comprehensive web development environments.
| Model | Processor | Geekbench 6 | Geekbench 5 |
|---|---|---|---|
| NX GEN 3 | Ultra 7 255H | 3,009/14,529 | 2,316/14,621 |
| NX GEN 3 | Ultra 5 225H | 2,901/14,203 | 2,213/13,518 |
| NX GEN 2 | i7-1260P | n/a | 1,895/ 9,777 |
| NX GEN 1 | i7-1165G7 | n/a | 1,655/ 5,643 |
| M2 GEN 6 | Ultra 9 275HX | 3,214/19,524 | 2,372/24,233 |
All benchmarks were run using high-performance CPU and fan profiles.

Both CPU options have highly capable Arc iGPUs that can drive 4 x 4K displays at 60 Hz with fluid desktop effects. Both are also suitable for many casual and AAA games at 1080p. The Arc 140T outperforms an NVIDIA GTX 1050 discrete GPU by around 15% in popular benchmarks.
Both the CPU and GPU share the same RAM, which means one can run AI models on this surprisingly powerful GPU without swapping between normal RAM and video RAM. If your ML pipeline works within the Intel ecosystem (OpenVINO, OneAPI) and requires many parameters, this may be an excellent option for you. Ask us about getting a 128 GB RAM system!
