We support the right to repair, and opening your Focus system does not void your warranty. We require all our systems to be serviceable. Most maintenance requires just a standard Phillips screwdriver to open the case.

You can expand or repair your system on your schedule using economical, standard components available from Kubuntu Focus, NewEgg, Best Buy, Amazon, or other electronics retailers. These cost much less than proprietary modules required by some other systems. Even laptop keyboards and batteries are user-replaceable at a reasonable cost. Recent M2 keyboards, for example, are around $150.

Owners also have peace of mind, knowing that the components they purchased with their systems are extensively researched and expertly integrated at a fair cost.

• Unlike some proprietary vendors that charge up to 400% markup on upgrades, we typically charge just one-tenth of that.
• You can relax and let us worry about compatibility, performance, and testing of the quality components. For example, if an SSD model needs a firmware update, we do it for you.
• We validate your components during assembly with hundreds of functional and stress tests. So when you get 64 GB of RAM, you know it has passed many tests to ensure it works. For example, it successfully performed the playback of three simultaneous FHD videos while also being used by Geekbench and multiple office tasks.
• If you get a second drive, we configure it to your liking at no extra cost (within reason, of course). For example, we typically mount /home on a second drive and chain-encrypt it so it unlocks automatically when you decrypt your root drive.
• One warranty covers all components, simplifying device management.
